HoopGurlz checks in on prospects throughout the country, including Stephanie Wilber of Auburn Riverside in Auburn, Wash.

Stephanie Wilber, a 6-foot-1 wing prospect out of Auburn Riverside in Auburn, Wash., has been offered by Arizona, Gonzaga and Oregon State, according to her high-school coach, Adam Barrett.

A 2007 standout, Wilber has made an unofficial visit to Oregon State and has scheduled one for Arizona this weekend. She also has scheduled an unofficial visit to Gonzaga in June. The three schools that have offered are Wilber's top choices, Barrett said.

Wilber no doubt increased her stock with an 18-point, 11-rebound performance for Oregon's Team Concept in the championship game of the Arizona Elite Classic in Tempe during the spring NCAA viewing weekend. Team Concept defeated the San Jose Cagers to secure the tournament title.

The sharp-shooting lefty battled through a bout with mononucleosis during her junior season with Auburn Riverside to earn several all-area and all-league honors. Wilber has a versatile offensive game, with an ability to score on the blocks and step outside to hit three-pointers.

Wilber also is considering Santa Clara and San Diego.

Auburn Lands JuCo Standout

Tangela McCorvey
Junior-college standout Tamela McCorvey of Okaloosa Walter College has selected Auburn over Tennessee and South Carolina.

“Auburn is getting a really good player,” Brittney Ezell Okaloosa Walton head coach, told autigers.com. “She is a tremendous athlete. She is quick on quick.”

A 5-foot-9 sophomore who can play both guard spots, McCorvey made 61 of 109 three-point attempts last season for her 20-9 team.

“I think Auburn is a good fit for me,” McCorvey told Inside the Auburn Tigers. “It is close to home, I like the campus and they have been recruiting me for a long time.”

A National Junior College Athletic Association honorable mention All-America selection, McCorvey averaged 11.9 points per game along with 5.1 assists, 4.2 steals and 3.4 rebounds. McCorvey played high school basketball at Woodham in Pensacola, Fla., where she was a first team All-State selection as a senior. She was named to the all-conference and All-State juco teams this past season.
