The second 50 players of our inaugural Hot 100 are unveiled for the 2007 class. Previously this week, we released our preseason All-Americans, Player of the Year and first 50 of our Hot 100.

For the first time in our admittedly short history, we present class rankings to a full 100 prospects, but first a disclaimer:

We missed some girls.

Much as we stretched our travel dollars, much as we asked for help and video, we did not see every possible candidate for a Top 100. We admit it, and realize that's a news flash in and of itself. But guess what? We're not going to stop trying.

In keeping with our policy to not rate or rank players we do not personally evaluate - in person or at least on tape - we've left players out of our Top 100. We thought it better to keep it real, and defend the kids we did include, than try to front and fake talking about kids we've never seen. So among the emails telling us where to go, figuratively, we hope there will be many that advise where to go, literally, so we can account for the missing. We know of a couple of great players in Michigan, for example, who have verbaled to good schools. Someone send us video, please!

Because we are not finished, this list is going to grow. We'll add and rearrange. And, no, we won't remove the girls we already have ranked. We already have determined that they deserve to be on the list.

Yesterday, we unveiled the first 50 of our Hot 100. Today, the list swells to the century mark:

In case anyone forgot (or never knew) what the stars mean:
  • Five Stars: Elite prospects with college All-American and conference player of the year potential.
  • Four Stars: Prospect for major Division I programs.
  • Three Stars: Prospect for major Division I programs and/or standout at mid-major programs.
  • Two Stars: Prospect for mid-major Division I programs and/or standout at low major programs.
  • One Star: Default rating or any recruitable Division I prospect.
Finally, yes, we care what you think. We even have a message board, that's become quite active during the past couple months, on which people across the country discuss players and teams from around the country.
