The rollout of the HoopGurlz National Honor Roll, which commemorates achievement on the court (high-school and club basketball) and off (classroom and community), picks up with Oklahoma through South Carolina.

OKLAHOMA

Alyssia Brewer
Sapulpa HS, Sapulpa, Okla.
6-3 post, Class of 2008

Possessing one of the biggest upsides in her class, Brewer is ranked 18th nationally in her class by HoopGurlz.com and led Sapulpa to the semifinals of the Oklahoma State Championships as a sophomore. Despite taking up basketball at a later age than most, she earned first-team all-state, league MVP and all-city honors as a sophomore and was named an AAU All-American during the summer of 2005. In the summer of 2006, Brewer earned all-tournament honors at the prestigious End of the Trail. She has been averaging nearly 16 points and 10 rebounds during her junior season.

Angel Goodrich
Sequoyah HS, Tahlequah, Okla.
5-3 guard, Class of 2008

A nice story of grand overachievement, Goodrich's 26 points led tiny Sequoyah (376 enrollment; Class 3A) to victory in the championship of the Oklahoma’s Best Girls Basketball Tournament over Class 6A Sapulpa and 6-3 center Alyssia Brewer. As a sophomore, she led Sequoyah to its second straight state championship, averaging 21.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 6.3 steals and 1.4 blocks - all team highs - while earning Phoenix Prep Athlete of the Year honors.

Tia McGee
Jenks HS, Jenks, Okla.

Considered one of the promising young inside players in the region, McGee has been averaging more than 19 points during her junior season.

OREGON

Alex Earl
Southridge HS, Beaverton, Ore.

The hyperkenetic Earl is another young player key to Southridge's dominance in the state. She is a strong guard with solid fundamentals and a smooth jumper that is legit to the three-point arc. Earl has been a standout in the summer for Southridge, earning co-MVP honors at the Oregon City tournament for high schools, as well as all-tournament recognition at the End of the Trail.

Brenna Heater
Ashland HS, Ashland, Ore.
6-3 post, Class of 2009

Just finishing her sophomore season, Heater already is considered one of the nation's top post prospects in the 2009 class. She has a college-caliber body and does things like hit long jumpers in transition to get recruiters excited. Heater earned second-team, all-state and first-team all-conference honors as a freshman.

Michelle Jenkins
Southridge HS, Beaverton, Ore.
6-3 post, Class of 2008

The star player for the defending state champions, Jenkins is a key to Southridge's chances to repeat and is among the most sought-after post prospects in the West. After helping Southridge to the Oregon state title, she was named honorable mention all-state and first-team All-Metro as a sophomore. On the club circuit, she was a co-MVP at the prestigious End of the Trail tournament, an all-star at the Grass Roots Fall Showcase and previously attended the invitation-only adidas Top Ten All-American Camp. Equally adept in the classroom, Jenkins is a National Honor Society member, a member of the Honor Roll at Southridge and has been involved in the Southridge Leadership Program, a volunteer for the Portland Community Transition School and youth basketball camps.

PENNSYLVANIA

Caroline Doty
Germantown Academy, Fort Washington, Penn.

Doty is one of the smoothest underclass guards in the country and is ranked No. 12 in the 2008 class and the No. 6 overall guard. She floats up and down the floor almost effortlessly and her athleticism allows her to jump over taller post defenders in the lane. The kid can shoot the rock too and has a smooth release. She has one three AAU national championship with her club team, Fencor as well as leading her high school team this year to an upset of then No. 6 St. Elizabeth’s and is now on they are on the verge of being ranked in the National Top 25. She was selected this year as an AAU All American and was a Street and Smith All American Honorable Mention as a sophomore. She was an All-State selection in 2006 and All-State Southeastern Section Second Team as a sophomore.

Jence Rhoads
Slippery Rock Area HS, Slippery Rock, Penn.
5-11guard, class of 2007
Vanderbilt signee

Rhoads exploded onto the national scene this summer at the adidas Top Ten and adidas Tournament of Champions in Atlanta. She hit the floor with her Sue Bird style game from her passing and posture to her jump shot. She led a team of overachievers to the championship game of the adidas TOC which triggered a number of schools who were interested to offer including her dream school, Vanderbilt. Rhoads was selected this summer as an adidas Top Ten All-Star. She averaged 29 points per game as a junior and was selected as a co-winner of the Swin Cash Award which is awarded to the top player in her district.

RHODE ISLAND

Kashaia Cannon
St. Mary-Bayview, Riverside, R.I.

A deadly distance shooter, even when defended, and an athletic player who evades defenders easily, Cannon often scores at will, averaging 24 points during her sophomore year at Classical High. A transfer to Bayview, she has been named second-team, all-state by the Providence Journal and Rhode Island coaches.

Trinity Hull
Cranston East HS, Cranston, R.I.
5-7 guard, Class of 2007

An athletic, tenacious defender and strong rebounder who can score in bunches but prefers to pass first, the fleet Hull was named by Rhode Island coaches as first-team all-state her sophomore and junior seasons and by the Providence Journal after averaging 21 points her junior year. She is the career scoring leader for girls or boys at Cranston East and virtually unanimously considered the best player in the state.

Meredith Ward
Westerly HS, Westerly, R.I.
5-8 guard, Class of 2008

A quick, intense and wel-built guard, Ward already is the all-time leading scorerat Westerly. She was named second-team, all-state and all-division after her sophomore season by the Rhode Island cocheas and honorable-mention, all-state after her freshman year.

Brittany Wilson

A slinky, deceptive player, Wilson had a breakout sophomore season, earning MVP honors in leading Bayview to the Providence Division I State High School Championship. She also earned first-team, all-state honors from the Providence Journal and Rhode Island coaches after averaging 20.1 points as a sophomore.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Bailey Dewart
Dorman HS, Inman, S.C.

Named the Class 4A Player of the Year by the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association for the second straight year, Dorman has been averaging 18.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.1 steals during her senior season. As a junior, she averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists and led Dorman to the Class 4A state championship game as a junior after helping it win to state titles during her first two seasons.

Fannie Goodwin
Lower Richland HS, Columbia, S.C.
6-1 forward, Class of 2008

Along with Stroman, Goodwin has been an inside force and major reason for Lower Richland's great success the past two seasons. This year, she is second in scoring with 9.1 points and leads the team in rebounding (7.7) blocks (1.5).

Sydnei Moss
North Augusta HS, North Augusta, S.C.

Named one of the top five seniors to watch by the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association, Moss also has been awarded that organization's first-team, all-state honors and led North Augusta to the second round of Class AAAA state playoffs. During her junior year, she led North Augusta to a 26-6 record and the state semifinals, scoring 39 points in the quarterfinals. As a sophomore, she averaged 20 points and nearly 12 rebounds, earning all-state honors, regional MVP and the Augusta Chronicle's All-Area South Carolina Player of the Year.

Morgan Stroman
Lower Richland High, Columbia, S.C.
6-2 wing, Class of 2009

Already one of the top players in the South, Stroman is destined to be among the most highly ranked players in her class. She plays for her mother, Debbie, at Lower Richland, which she helped lead to a state championship during her freshman season and to a No. 1 ranking in the state this year. Stroman was named to the all-tournament team at the Peach State Classic during her sophomore season. As a freshman, this sleek wing player averaged 11 points and eight rebounds, earning Freshman All-American honors from Student Sports. Stroman also was an all-state selection and a Street & Smith preseason honorable mention All-American.

Sierra Williams
Goose Creek HS, Goose Creek, S.C.
6-2 forward, Class of 2008

Williams has led Goose Creek to the Class AAAA Lower State championship game and a 25-2 record so far this year. She was named an honorable mention Street & Smith All-American honorable mention, first-team, all-state 4A and first-team all-region after averaging 16 points, nine rebounds, six steals and four blocks as a sophomore. She also was named first-team, all-region as a freshman.
