Cierra Burdick and Tiffany Mitchell are the two top underclassmen in North Carolina they take this opportunity to go One on One with Full Court Preps.

Cierra Burdick is the top 2011 prospect on the east coast and is leading Butler to a memorable season. After transferring from South Mecklenburg this 6’3’’ versatile player has been holding down the paint much of the season but looks to expand her game and her range this spring with Team Unique. Burdick talks with Full Court about staying close to home and her goals the rest of this high school season in this edition of One on One.

Full Court Preps: How is your high school season going so far?

Cierra Burdick: My high school season is going great so far. I transferred this year to Butler High School from South Mecklenburg and it has been a great change for me, I do not regret it at all. My new coach and teammates are great. We are known as the dream team down here in Charlotte and were ranked 25th in the nation and #1 in North Carolina.

Full Court Preps: What specific things have you been working on your game?

Cierra Burdick: As for my game my outside shot has been getting the most work, mostly the 3-point shot though. I also have really been working on my defense.

Full Court Preps: How is your recruiting going so far? What schools have you visited and what are your impressions of those schools?

Cierra Burdick : I have visited some ACC schools and some SEC schools that are close to home. Because I want to stay close my family I am thinking about some orange or maybe some Carolina blue, or maybe even some maroon but you never know though.

Full Court Preps: What team will you be playing on this spring and what spring event will you be attending?

Cierra Burdick : Ill be playing showcase with Team Unique out of Washington, D.C. We will be attending the Deep South Classic in the Spring.

Full Court Preps: What are you goals at the end of the high school season?

Cierra Burdick : Plain and simple: I want my seniors to have the opportunity to walk across that stage with a state championship ring on their finger!

Tiffany Mitchell leads Providence Day School in North Carolina in the point guard position and is one of the top 2012 point guards in the country. Mitchell talks about recruiting and her high school season so far in this segment of One on One with Full Court Preps.

Full Court Preps: How is your high school season going so far?

Tiffany Mitchell: My high school season so far has been going great!! We got off to great start for the season and so far we have only lost 4 games, all of which were to teams out of state. We are a young team and only have two seniors so I think that what we have accomplished so far is awesome!! We are approaching the state tournament in a couple of weeks and this is a big tournament for us since our school has won it 4 times in a row.

Full Court Preps: What specific things have you been working on your game?

Tiffany Mitchell:I have been working a lot on basically fine tuning my overall game, just trying to get better each time I step on the court. But I have still been working extra hard on my left hand, dribbling and shooting!!

Full Court Preps: How is your recruiting going so far? What schools have you visited and what are your impressions of those schools?

Tiffany Mitchell: I have gotten offers from Alabama, UNC-Charlotte,Wake Forest, Clemson, Georgia Tech, and UNC-Chapel Hill. I have visited Clemson, Georgia Tech, UNC-Charlotte, and Wake forest once. I like all of the schools I have visited and that have offered me so far.

Full Court Preps: What team will you be playing on this spring and what spring event will you be attending?

Tiffany Mitchell: I will be in all of Peach State Events. In the spring I will be at the Peach State Tip-Off Classic in Atlanta. I will also be attending Basketball on the Bayou in New Orleans, LA. Most of the things I will be playing in will be in Atlanta. You can ask or talk to Brandon Clay because we are in a lot of his events. I am playing on a team called Southeast Elite.

Full Court Preps: What are you goals at the end of the high school season?

Tiffany Mitchell: My goal is to wrap up my first high school season and win the state championship!
