Mariah Chandler has spent most of the past year recovering from an ACL tear which kept her out of high school and travel ball last season. Chandler chose Baylor over Maryland and Georgia Tech and takes time out to talk to Full Court Prep in this segment of One on One.
Full Court Prep: How has your high school season gone so far?
Mariah Chandler: My senior year of high school has been a very interesting time in my life. I've been through so many trials and tribulations but I have held my grounds strong and conquered them all. This season has been the hardest one for me but it is another hill that I have found myself climbing over and reaching the end near to victory. We have overcome the games we have lost and now have become closer as a family. We plan to reach State and win State.
Full Court Prep:What specific things have you been working on to fine tune your game and make yourself a better player?
Mariah Chandler: I have been working on my long-range shooting and my right hand. I tend to always drive left even when I'm being played left, but now I have been able to go right when I have the chance to.
Full Court Prep: What things are you most anticipating about going to the next level?
Mariah Chandler: I am looking forward to having more freedom on and off the court.
Full Court Prep: What are your goals to wrap up your high school season on a positive note?
Mariah Chandler: I want to carry my team to a state championship and win it. I also want to make my teammates better people.
