Full Court Prep: How was your high school season this year?
Shawn Randall:: This was a rough high school season for me because I missed the first two months of the season with a broken wrist. Last spring I hurt my knee in track and I had finally gotten back to full strength before I broke my wrist in the fall. I was able to play the last month of the season this year but neither me nor the team got in a good rhythm this year.
Full Court Prep:What specific aspects of your game have you been working on?
Shawn Randall: I have been working on getting healthy from my wrist and just getting back in shape. In my game I have been working on my shot and defense.
Full Court Prep: How is your recruiting going so far? What schools have you visited and who are you interested in in this stage of your recruiting?
Shawn Randall:Because I missed last summer with a knee injury my recruiting slowed down some. Middle Tennessee State, Marshall, Georgia State, Jacksonville, and North Florida have all stuck with me throughout my recruiting. Right now my favorite is Middle Tennessee, and I am excited for them to see me play in the spring. Before I got hurt Alabama and Miami were recruiting me. I have visited Jacksonville, Alabama, Miami, Florida, North Florida and Middle Tennessee through camps that I have attended. I will be visiting Kentucky in the summer when we attend the Run for the Roses and look forward to having schools see me in the spring before I make a decision where I go. I really enjoyed the staff at Middle Tennessee when I visited last summer, unfortunately I was hurt and could not play in camp, but I am excited about going back up there this summer again.
Full Court Prep:How do you think your injuries the past year are going to affect your recruiting and where you are going to attend school?
Shawn Randall:I think a lot of people are underestimating my ability because I have not played as much the last year. I know I am healthy and am ready to prove myself this spring. I know by who I have played against in the past that I am good enough to compete at a very high level and cannot wait for schools to see it. I think schools that who have not been paying attention to me because I have been out are really going to miss out on something.
Full Court Prep:Do you have any goals headed in to the spring and your senior year of high school?
Shawn Randall: I really want to enjoy basketball and school. Since I came to Pine Castle Christian things have been great. The school is great academically and they have been helping me out a lot to prepare for college and our coach is also excellent. I hope that we can have a great summer of club basketball and then move on to have a great high school season before I head to college.
