When teams come and go, the arrivals and departures are reflected in the rankings.

SEATTLE, May 30 - One of the dominant teams on any level the past couple years, the Mill Creek Lady Wolfpack finally found a foe they could not overcome.

Soccer.

So with the multisport Wolfpack moving on to different pursuits, Joker's Wild, a team many thought had a legit shot at No. 1 anyway, moves to the top. Breathing down their necks is rival Y.E.A.

This edition of the HoopGurlz High Five brings two other No. 1 teams - the Puget Sound Flight Blue overtook the Lady Style, who were upset by Emerald City in the Battle in Seattle, and the Seattle Reds head the inaugural 9th grade rankings.

The division with the potential for the biggest scrambles continues to be the 6th grade which, while still led by the Tukwila Reign, consistently attracts votes for the biggest variety of teams.

Lack of participation, though not lack of interest, has shelved rankings for Oregon and Eastern Washington. The most recent rankings now are archived. We will note the Oregon Triple Threat Black continues to be dominant, though missing their starting backcourt last weekend; the 9th grade Lady Falcons from Vancouver were impressive in Yakima, and we look forward to seeing a lot of the 6th grade Pasco Dawgs in the Seattle area this summer.

The HoopGurlz High Five rankings are a collaboration of area coaches, league and tournament directors and will be updated approximately every other week, or as developments dictate.
